Hot Chocolate Dreams
Hot Chocolate Dreams, a specialty hot chocolate shop located in a small town, wanted a website that their customers could visit to see the wide variety of drinks and pastries they offer. Additionally, since most customers access the site on their mobile devices, the site had to be designed responsively so it would look good on any type of screen. Using a subtle color scheme, a new logo was created and the site was kept simple so that the photos of the food would stand out.
Sugar & Flour
Sugar & Flour, a custom cake bakery, wanted to encourage interaction with users on their site while incorporating their brand's playful personality. To this end, we added many JavaScript features, like a "cake-ulator" to figure out how long it had been since the last time anyone had a slice of cake. We also added a custom cake order form (which includes error handling).
Good Eats
Good Eats is one-page website that was designed to test user response to banner ads for an academic paper. It’s light on content but responsive and beautifully designed.
Suicide Prevention Flyer
The Nevada Suicide Prevention Department of Health and Human Services had an outdated and visually confusing flyer on suicide prevention. Since this flyer's purpose is to help those who are struggling, it was vital that the redesign feature a soothing color palette and minimal design to keep the focus on the content. Clean lines and classic typefaces also helped convey authority and serenity.
Travel Magazine Layouts
The author of an article on travel photography wanted to visualize her article in a magazine, so we mocked up three distinct layouts. Two layouts feature circles, which were chosen to subtly echo the lens of the camera featured in the main photo. The remaining layout used a unique typeface for the title and a colored background to pull all the pieces together.
